Upon passing the initial test, Commander Seven of Nine approaches her dear friend "Tuvok" with knowledge of the conspiracy. A rogue faction of Changelings, prisoners of war weaponized by Starfleet itself during Project Proteus, saw their biology evolved after experimentation allowing them to mimic humanoid blood, hold their form, and pass every test implemented in the wake of the Dominion War.Īs such, the Changelings were able to impersonate high ranking Starfleet officials, including Captain Tuvok. 9.Two of the Federation's greatest threats - the Changelings and the Borg - re-emerge and conspire together resulting in the most insidious conspiracy Starfleet has ever witnessed. "What version of DirectX does Bridge Commander require? The minimum requirement is DirectX 7 but it will obviously function with later versions of DirectX. This came from a google search and from a site called Trek core I'm not sure if it could be partly the emulator as well? I know some don't necessarily play well with older games or games in general but I have no experience with macs or that software so I couldn't really say there. I'm not sure what version came with bridge commander, I know XP and 7 went up to DX 9.0c but it could be anything. My guess is that there are elements from say the older versions or similar files but they're not exactly what the game was expecting so it would throw up graphical glitches but still run. It wasn't until I installed the version that came with the game did it work as it was meant too. Well to give you an idea, I could start up Birth of the Federation on windows 10 but when I tried to play, the cursor would flash like mad and streak over the screen. I'm running Parallels Desktop 15 (v15.1.4) on an iMac (Retina 27-inch, Late 2015) using macOS Catalina (10.15.6). I did mange to get into the game on 2 occasions, although I still got the errors and have not been able to reproduce whatever caused it to load on those 2 occasions.Īm I missing a library that I need to install for STBC to run or something? exe As Administrator and turning on Compatibility mode (Windows XP Service Pack 3), but the errors still come. exe the screen goes black (it does change the resolution) and I get a bunch of error messages telling me that these files are "either not designed to run on Windows or contains an error": I've recently decided to give Star Trek Bridge Commander another go after many years (now installed on Windows 10). I'm on Leave of Absence from tomorrow but hopefully if you have any further issues, someone else can lend a hand Good luck! There's a quick guide on but I'm sure there's load more information out there. Personally I use Rivatuner Statistics Server to cap the framerate of my running applications. Does anyone have any other suggestions to try to get this game working on Windows 10? I've tried disabling v-sync through the Nvidia control panel and setting only one core to the game through the control panel but this has unfortunately not helped matters. I'm on a Windows 10 Machine with a Nvidia 1070 GTX so just a tad higher than the recommended specs. Unfortunately I'm having a very similar issue to the above, where the game camera pans (in the bridge) at high FPS but the characters and the exterior of the ships constantly stutter. I've recently picked up an eBay copy of Bridge Commander, looking to enjoy an old classic that I used to while my days away.
